Pikmin 4 is set to receive a new edition for the Nintendo Switch 2, scheduled for release on November 12. This version, officially titled "Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy," will introduce voice commands for controlling Oatchi, the player's canine companion, utilizing the console's built-in microphone. This addition aims to enhance player interaction with the game's mechanics.
The "Dandori Academy" component introduces a new time trial mode. Players will have the opportunity to practice and achieve their best times across 72 planned Dandori stages. These scores can then be submitted during official "exams" held on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, allowing players to compare their performance against friends and other online competitors. The Dandori stages are expected to be made available over time.
While the notes suggest likely technical improvements for the Switch 2 hardware, specific details regarding these enhancements have not been elaborated upon. Pikmin 4 originally launched in 2023.
