Professor Layton and the New World of Steam has finally received a release date: December 10, 2026. This marks the first new installment in the Professor Layton series in nearly a decade, and the first to feature the titular professor himself in 13 years.
The announcement was made during a recent Nintendo Direct presentation, confirming the long-anticipated arrival of the puzzle-adventure game. Fans have been awaiting news on the franchise for a considerable time, with the last entry starring Professor Layton being Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, released in 2011. The most recent game in the series, Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy, arrived in 2017 and focused on his daughter.
The New World of Steam aims to bring the beloved professor back to the forefront, promising new mysteries and puzzles for players to solve when it launches on December 10, 2026.
