Ubisoft has announced that Rayman Legends Retold, a remake of the 2013 platformer, has been delayed from its original October 1 release date to December 3. The decision comes less than a month before the planned launch.

The Rayman development team stated that while the game has officially gone gold, they are taking extra time to ensure every detail receives adequate attention. This delay means Rayman Legends Retold will still launch in 2026, avoiding a shift into the following year, unlike some other titles.

To offer a glimpse of the updated game during the extended wait, Ubisoft plans to release a new overview trailer on September 22. The same day will also see the publication of new hands-on impressions from press and content creators.

The original Rayman Legends remains the most recent console entry in the series and continues to be widely available. According to brand manager Loïc Gounon, the decision to remake this particular title was driven by a desire to create something relatively quickly that could appeal to both long-time fans and newcomers to the franchise. Gounon emphasized that the original game's completeness made it a natural choice for a remake.

Development on Rayman Legends Retold has involved substantial reimagining of the original game, including the addition of a new final world intended to provide a more impactful conclusion. The additional two months of development time are expected to help the team fully realize their vision for the remake.
