The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is set to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 11, with its Physical Deluxe Edition featuring the full base game on a physical cartridge. This approach diverges from the Game-Key Card format seen in many other Switch 2 releases.
Preorders for the Physical Deluxe Edition are currently available at various retailers for $59.99. While some outlets like Walmart, Amazon, and Best Buy have already sold out, Target and GameStop still have copies in stock. For those interested in digital versions, the standard digital edition is priced at $49.99, and the digital Deluxe Edition is $59.99 on the Nintendo eShop.
The Physical Deluxe Edition includes not only the base game but also the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine story expansions. Additionally, players will receive a collection of downloadable content, including Fighter’s Stronghold, Spell Tomes, Vile Lair, Mehrune’s Razor, The Thieves Den, Wizard’s Tower, and the Horse Armor Pack. The edition also comes with exclusive digital Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon Armors, Weapons, and Horse Armor Sets.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, released last year, is an enhanced version of the 2006 open-world RPG. IGN's review described it as "an awesome nostalgic adventure that recaptures most of what I loved about the 2006 original, while sanding down many of its roughest edges." The remaster features modernized elements, such as a slightly improved leveling system, intended to reduce friction from the original while preserving its expansive freedom and engaging questlines.
