Preorders have opened for the 4K Blu-ray release of the recently theatrically released film, The End of Oak Street. A limited-edition 4K steelbook version is among the options available for purchase, though a specific release date has not yet been announced and will depend on the movie's performance during its theatrical run.
The End of Oak Street is a thriller centered on a suburban street that is transported millions of years into the past, forcing a family to fight for survival against dinosaurs. The film stars Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor as parents navigating this prehistoric scenario. It is noted for its compact 99-minute runtime, contrasting with the lengthy durations of many contemporary blockbusters.
The movie is produced by J.J. Abrams and written and directed by David Robert Mitchell, known for his previous horror film It Follows. Mitchell's experience in directing chase sequences is highlighted as a relevant skill for this project.
This release joins a growing list of films receiving 4K steelbook editions. Other upcoming and recently released steelbooks include Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the original Scary Movie, Rob Zombie's Firefly trilogy, the Hostel films, and Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein.
