Preorders have opened for a pair of amiibo figures based on Young Link and Young Zelda, set to accompany the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The figures, each priced at $24.99, are available at multiple retailers but are experiencing rapid sell-outs.
While specific release dates for the amiibo have not been announced, Nintendo indicated they are slated for release sometime in 2027. Scanning these amiibo within the Ocarina of Time remake will unlock in-game masks designed to evoke the low-poly, angular graphical style of the original Nintendo 64 release, offering a retro aesthetic.
The characters depicted in the amiibo, Young Link and Young Zelda, are central to a pivotal early-game encounter in the original Ocarina of Time. After leaving his forest home, Link traverses Hyrule Field and infiltrates the castle, where he meets a young Princess Zelda who has foreseen his arrival.
In addition to the Ocarina of Time remake and its associated amiibo, Nintendo has also made several Zelda 40th anniversary edition items available for preorder. These items are not directly tied to the remake but are scheduled for release on October 29, the week preceding the remake's launch. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is scheduled for release in November for the Nintendo Switch 2.
