Nintendo has officially unveiled its upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, confirming a November 5 release date. This reimagined version of the classic N64 title has been rebuilt from the ground up for the Switch 2, boasting a distinct 3D visual style that sets it apart from previous Zelda games.
The remake introduces several modern gameplay advancements, including the ability to manually jump and dash. Players will also find quicker item switching and motion control aiming. A new feature called Threads of Time will function as a quest log, presenting player progress as a visual tapestry.
While the core structure of Hyrule's distinct regions and loading screen transitions remain, the game will include some additions, such as expanded areas like Castle Town with new minigames within shops. A notable new mechanic allows players to hum Ocarina songs rather than relying solely on button prompts. A physical Ocarina accessory will also be available to accompany the game's release.
The announcement was part of a broader Nintendo Direct presentation that also provided updates on the live-action Legend of Zelda movie.
