Phil Lord and Christopher Miller’s adaptation of Andy Weir’s bestselling sci-fi novel Project Hail Mary is expanding with a new experience titled Project Hail Mary: Journey Among the Stars. This mixed-reality adventure, set to launch on November 12, will explore an "untold chapter" of the story, focusing on the journey of Ryland Grace and Rocky back to Rocky's home planet.
Players will step into the role of Ryland Grace, voiced by Ryan Gosling in the film adaptation. The gameplay involves diagnosing and solving issues that arise during the interstellar voyage, potentially pushing the boundaries of scientific knowledge or requiring more hands-on approaches. Familiar physical surroundings will be transformed into environments aboard the Hail Mary starship, enhancing immersion.
Rocky, Grace’s alien companion, will assist players by managing inventory, tasks, and cargo. James Ortiz will reprise his role as the voice of Rocky. The experience will be available on PICO, Android XR, and Meta Quest 3/3S.
