Ganondorf's Castle serves as the final dungeon in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, presenting the ultimate challenge before the game's conclusion. Successfully navigating its rooms and overcoming its trials is essential to confronting the game's antagonist and saving Hyrule.

Entering Ganondorf's Castle

Begin by proceeding through the ruined Hyrule Castle Town and into the castle's outskirts. Follow the path forward and step onto the glowing ground before the castle to trigger a bridge's appearance. Cross this bridge and enter the castle. Inside, continue forward, defeating the Beamos guarding the next door to officially enter Ganondorf's Castle.

Clearing the Yellow Barrier

Enter the yellow door on the left. Clear the room of Blade Traps and a Beamos, then collect the diamonds to unlock the next door. In the subsequent area, defeat the Torch Slugs and open the chest for a Business Deku Seed. Behind a grated wall, use a Bombchu to activate a crystal switch, opening the path forward.

In the next room, use fire to clear webbing from a sun switch. Equip your Mirror Shield and reflect light onto the switch to open the adjacent door. Beyond this, face the first evil power and defeat it with a Light Arrow.

Clearing the Green Barrier

Proceed through the green door on the right. Defeat the Wolfos and collect the five Arrows from the chest. Light all four torches in the room using Din’s Fire, then use a Fire Arrow to light the final torch above the locked door. Once open, enter the next area.

Use the Song of Time to pull a cube from the wall. After the fan stops, use it to reach a diamond. With Hover Boots, cross to a platform, bomb the Beamos, and collect another diamond. Activate a switch to raise a pillar, which you can use with the Longshot to reach a diamond. Finally, collect the last diamond near the locked door by timing a jump to avoid a fan.

Use a Light Arrow to defeat the evil power guarding this section.

Clearing the Blue Barrier

Head through the blue door. Defeat the Freezards and collect blue fire using an Empty Bottle. Collect five Bombchus from a chest on the right.

Use the blue fire to melt the red ice and proceed. Solve the ice slab puzzle by pushing the first slab into the central hole, then positioning the second slab to create a path. Climb the ice slab, melt red ice, and hit a switch with the Megaton Hammer to open the exit. Defeat the evil power with a Light Arrow.

Obtaining the Golden Gauntlets

Go through the purple door. Use your Bow to light an unlit torch, raising platforms to cross a gap. Collect five Arrows from a chest on the left.

Cross the gap, dealing with Green Bubbles and a Like Like. Use Hover Boots to reach the next platform. Equip the Lens of Truth to reveal a hidden path to a switch. Activating this switch reveals a chest containing the Golden Gauntlets.

After acquiring the gauntlets, lift a large black and gold stone to reveal a path to another switch. Activate this switch to open the exit. Use the Lens of Truth and Hover Boots to navigate the final gap and proceed through the door. Defeat the evil power with a Light Arrow.

Clearing the Red Barrier

Use your Golden Gauntlets to lift a large rock blocking the red door. Equip your Goron Tunic before entering the room, as it is filled with lava. Jump onto the large central platform, which will begin to sink. Follow it to the left, lifting a massive rock to reveal a diamond and a path to another diamond across the lava.

Collect the remaining diamonds and proceed through the unlocked door. Defeat the evil power with a Light Arrow.

Clearing the Final Barrier

Lift a rock blocking the entrance to the next door. Inside, equip the Lens of Truth to see a dangling Skulltula. Lure and defeat them, then open chests for a Red Rupee and three Blue Rupees (beware of fake chests).

Proceed through the door, still with the Lens of Truth equipped, and open a chest for a Small Key. Play Zelda's Lullaby on the Triforce symbol to reveal another chest. Use the Small Key on the locked door.

In the boulder room, use the Longshot to reach the central platform's safety. Collect the diamond, then locate and gather the remaining diamonds. Exit through the newly opened door. Defeat the Wallmaster and use the Lens of Truth to reveal the final evil power, which you can cleanse with a Light Arrow.

Collecting a Fairy

Below the tower bridge, use the Lens of Truth to find a secret stairway. Descend and use an Empty Bottle to capture a fairy. Smash nearby jars for additional items.

Obtaining the Boss Key

Cross the bridge and enter the central tower. Replenish hearts and arrows from jars, then take the elevator up.

Follow the path, defeating Fire Keese, until you reach a door. Inside, defeat the Lizalfos duo. Proceed through the next door and defeat the Stalfos duo.

In the subsequent room, take on the Iron Knuckle duo. Use backflips and side jumps to avoid their attacks, and capitalize on openings to strike. Din’s Fire can expedite this fight. After their defeat, open the chest to obtain the Boss Key.

Reaching the Boss Room

Destroy the pillar behind the Boss Key chest for extra hearts. Exit the room and continue along the path until you reach another door. Prepare for upcoming battles by restocking on hearts and items from the surrounding jars.

Proceed through the next door and ascend the stairs to reach the boss door, marking the final approach to saving Hyrule.
