The Nintendo Switch 2 Remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time introduces the Hall of Fallen Foes, a new feature that allows players to collect statues of monsters they've defeated. This hall also offers opportunities for rematches with bosses and minibosses, as well as boss run challenges.
Unlocking the Hall of Fallen Foes
To access the Hall of Fallen Foes, players must first complete the Forest Temple. After this, returning to any bed in Hyrule, such as those in Link's House or at Lon Lon Ranch, will reveal a green portal. Entering this portal sends Link into his dreams, where the Hall of Fallen Foes resides. The owl Kaepora Gaebora can be spoken to when players wish to exit.
The Hall of Fallen Foes is exclusive to this version of Ocarina of Time. As players defeat monsters throughout Hyrule, the hall gradually populates with their statues. Rematches with bosses and minibosses, along with boss run gauntlets, become available.
Hall of Fallen Foes Trials
Three distinct boss run trials are available within the Hall of Fallen Foes:
- Trial of the Spiritual Stone: Unlocks after completing the Forest Temple. Features Gohma, King Dodongo, and Barinade.
- Trial of the Five Sages: Unlocks after completing the Shadow Temple. Features Phantom Ganon, Volvagia, Morpha, Bongo Bongo, and Twinrova.
- Trial of the Hero of Time: Unlocks after completing the main story. Features all bosses and minibosses, including Ganondorf and Ganon.
Before each boss fight in a trial, players enter an area with a chest containing 200 Rupees and Business Scrubs. These merchants offer items such as Heart Containers and potions at high prices. The available items can change between boss fights, necessitating strategic purchases.
Completing a boss run rewards players with an owl statue, displayed in Link's Home in Kokiri Forest.
Monster Statues and Locations
The Hall of Fallen Foes contains a total of 84 statues. A statue is unlocked upon defeating a monster for the first time. Some monsters, like Stalfos, have multiple statues representing different versions encountered in the game. Each statue provides details about the foe, recommended weapons, and location, with rematches available for bosses and minibosses.
The hall is organized into sections based on in-game locations. The guide provides a comprehensive list of monsters, their primary locations, and whether a rematch is possible, starting from the forest section and moving clockwise.
