A recent poll conducted by PC Gamer indicates that 45% of its readers have cleaned their gaming PCs within the last six months. This finding suggests a dedicated segment of the PC gaming community actively engages in hardware maintenance.

The survey, which asked participants "When did you last dust/clean your gaming PC?", revealed a varied approach to PC hygiene among its readership. While 45% reported cleaning within the last six months, another 14% admitted it had been over a year, and 26% couldn't recall when they last performed the task. A smaller group, 5%, had cleaned their PC within the last 24 hours.

Breaking down the results further, 23% of respondents indicated cleaning within the last six months, and 17% within the last four weeks, suggesting a portion of that 45% have cleaned more recently. Fifteen percent of readers reported cleaning their PC within the last 12 months, falling between the more frequent cleaners and those who rarely perform maintenance.

The poll highlights a split in cleaning habits, with a near equilibrium between those who maintain their PCs at least annually and those who do so less frequently. PC Gamer also posed a follow-up question about BIOS updates, indicating a continued interest in PC maintenance and system upkeep among its audience.
