Nvidia has released a new trailer showcasing its DLSS 5 technology integrated into Hogwarts Legacy, highlighting improvements to in-game lighting and materials. This implementation appears more subtle than early modded versions of DLSS 5, which had previously been criticized for altering game art styles in undesirable ways.
According to Nvidia, Hogwarts Legacy will receive an update on November 5th to incorporate DLSS 5. This update is a collaboration with Warner Bros. Games and Avalanche Software, aiming to enhance environmental detail while preserving character appearances. The technology requires developer fine-tuning and approval to achieve the desired visual effects.
Nvidia states that DLSS 5, particularly with its 3D-Guided Neural Rendering feature, can improve shadow fidelity, upscale textures, and sharpen reflections in real-time. The trailer provides a visual demonstration of these advancements within the game's environments.
Beyond Hogwarts Legacy, DLSS 5 is set to be implemented in two other upcoming titles: War Thunder, scheduled for a mid-November update, and Where Winds Meet, which will feature the technology at launch on November 23rd.
Access to DLSS 5 is limited to users with GeForce RTX 50-Series GPUs and laptops, RTX Spark PCs, and GeForce NOW Ultimate subscribers.
