A Grand Theft Auto V modder has introduced an overwhelming horde of cougars into the game, complete with varying difficulties and armaments, as part of an ongoing effort to transform or break the title.
The mod, named "Cougars," adds seven distinct cougar types and four difficulty settings, selectable by pressing the delete key. The author recounts engaging "Catastrophe" mode, which unleashed large numbers of cougars upon the player characters. These augmented felines were described as being armed with heavy machine guns and wearing body armor, with some sporting traffic cones.
Following a teleportation to Los Santos International Airport, the cougar onslaught continued, with the player ultimately resorting to an explosive micro-SMG to manage the situation. The experience concluded with a bizarre in-game victory sequence where a character with a cougar's head and a parade of dancing cougars offered congratulations before the player teleported away. This experiment is part of a larger, daily endeavor by the modder to either reshape GTA 5 into a PC version of GTA 6 or to fundamentally break the game.
